At Hall, we prioritize a health-promoting work environment and can offer, for example, a staff gym to use during breaks and also in your free time. There is also proximity to various exercise trails. You can walk or run in the area right next to Hallfjärden and also have access to a sports hall, recovery room with a massage chair, and a library.

About 400 employees and 20 managers work at the prison, managing, leading, and developing the operations. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but the prison also employs administrative staff, educators, production leaders, service technicians, etc. The prison accommodates just over 350 inmates who are engaged in, for example, education, treatment programs, or in the prison's production.

You can reach the prison, located just outside Södertälje, by bus from Östertälje. If you drive, you can park for free in our staff parking. For those living far from Södertälje, the prison may provide accommodation for a limited period. JOB DESCRIPTION

As a correctional officer, you are the foundation of the security work. You work in teams with other professional groups to maintain a safe and secure operation and motivate clients towards a life without crime.

Clear routines and motivational conversations are a natural part of your daily work, as is documentation and reporting via various computer systems. You are the one who opens the cell door in the morning and locks it in the evening. You accompany clients to work and education, conduct searches, supervise the yard and training facilities, and participate in emergencies that require staff intervention. You also have daily contact with clients to know how they are doing, and you are part of the release preparations.

Depending on the number of training places and our staffing needs, you will start your employment with either training or work. If you start working directly, the intention is for you to begin your correctional officer training as soon as possible.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your personal qualities are important. As a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, empathetic, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you drive the operations, so you need to have good collaboration skills and be clear in your communication. The position requires that you have good physical ability to handle situations that may arise in the job and to perform the physical tasks included in the training.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, temporary employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Good computer skills.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Work experience in correctional services, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social work.
• Knowledge in relevant areas, such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
• Relevant language skills in addition to Swedish.
